The advanced information technology brought unprecedented progress on the library work. How to effectively do the better progress on the management. This article analyzed the work of university status and role in the new period, and offered the recommendations of its development. Furthermore, the author discussed the meaning of the humane care by which the university library and information work in the social benefits generated. Finally, it elaborated from the following aspects of the books collection, collation, development and utilization of information resources and enhancing the quality of librarian.
