Why did Nietzsche,as a critique of Enlightenment,claim to call back the spirit of Enlightenment？ Is Nietzsche an enemy of the Enlightenment or a neo-enlightener？ This paper begins with the complex relationships between Nietzsche,Rousseau,and Voltaire,analyzes the paradox of Nietzsche＇s enlightenment,that is,the tension between anti-enlightenment in politics and new enlightenment in philosophy,and draws a conclusion that the paradox takes its origin in the duality of Nietzsche＇s philosophy.
