ANALYSIS ON THE STRENGTH OF BICYCLE RIMS

采用力法对轮网进行应力分析。轮网承受两种载荷,一是通过辐条传递给轮网的负载,二是由于辐条的张力传递来的力。分别计算出轮网上的内力,然后进行叠加,得到一个计算轮网强度的普遍公式,为改进轮网设计提供理论依据。

The article carries out the analysis on rim strength by mechanical means. The bicycle rim bears two kinds of load. One is transmitted to the rim through spokes,the other is conveyed to the rim through thespoke tension. Making out the two internal forces respectively, then adding them up, We can get a general formula for the calculation of rim strength, and this provides us with theoretical basis for improvement on rim design.
