The polarographic adsorptive wave of copper α benzoinoxime complex in the solution of 0.01 mol/L KOH has been researched. The peak potential is about 0.58 V(vs.SCE). The detection limit is 0.33pg/mL Cu 2+ . It is the most sensative method ever in the adsorptive polarographic wave for determining copper. The linearity is 0 100 pg/mL. This method has been used for the determination of trace amounts of copper in marine water, and hence satisfactory results.
