摘要 The comparison of texts in different languages inevitably involves a theory of equivalence.To shed as much as possible light on theories and writings that have dealt with the notion of equivalence,this essay attempts to present a few in-depth reflections on translation equivalence through reviewing the theory of equivalence as interpreted by some of the most innovative theorists in this field,as well as some first-hand data from my teaching experience.
