Philip Glass, an American minimalism composer influenced by Indian music, absorbed into his composition the rhythmic organization of Indian music that differs perfectly from Western music tradition and formed his personal "additive process" technique, having it becoming a symbolic technique that can represent his minimal style. Post-minimalist John Adams also used it in his compositions.
