摘要
有关隐喻与转喻及它们之间的关系存在着争议,在一定程度上造成了混乱。通过对隐喻和转喻原型样本的考察发现,隐喻和转喻在认知操作方式、语用功能和要素共现模式等方面没有本质的区别,只有范畴隶属度的差异。在单一ICM内还是两个ICM之间操作、是否可以转换成明喻这两个特征矩阵点对隐喻和转喻具有区别性意义,后者是区别隐喻与转喻的唯一具有可操作性的依据。
There are lots of argumentations concerning metaphor,metonymy,and their relationships.Through investigating some metaphorical and metonymic prototypes,the present study clarifies that there are no essential differences between metaphor and metonymy in the aspects of mode of cognitive operation,pragmatic function and pattern of essentials-concurrence,but the difference in the categorical typicality ratings of a linguistic entity.Two of the attributes-matrix,whether it is operated in one or two ICM and ±conversion into simile are of distinctive significance to metaphor and metonymy,and the latter is the only workable one to distinguish the two categories.
