A Probe into Stuart Hall’s Thoughts Abroad

20世纪50年代从英国传统文学学科中逐渐发展起来的"文化研究"或"伯明翰学派"已经受到了不同学科学者长久的关注。作为该学派思想集大成者的斯图亚特·霍尔为该学派的创建和发展作出了杰出的贡献。通过考察西方世界学者关注霍尔思想问题,诠释其思想中的核心内容和文化内核,剖析这些学者关注霍尔思想问题的局限性,能为我们当下国内学者深入思考霍尔思想提供指导。

＂Cultural Studies＂ or ＂Birmingham School＂,which has gradually developed in the field of British traditional literary research in the 1950s,has been focused on by some kinds of scholars.As a thinking epitome of this School,Stuart Hall has greatly contributed to the founding and development of this School.This paper is for western scholars to examine Stuart Hall’s thoughts,explain key contents and cores of his thoughts,and analyze the limitations of these scholars’ foci on Stuart Hall,in this way,so as to offer beneficial guide for our Chinese scholars with thorough research on Stuart Hall.
