摘要
本文提出了利用车牌颜色特征和纹理特征多种特征结合来进行车牌定位的方法,克服了以往车牌定位技术只利用单一特征进行定位的缺点。文中提出的方法首先利用HSV颜色空间去除非车牌颜色区域,然后利用颜色伴生、字符密度、区域几何等特征结合进行最终精确定位。该方法可以摆脱单一特征在车牌大小、位置以及背景和光照等方面的限制。实验证明本方法具有较好的检测效果。
A new method for License Plate Locating based on multi-feature is introduced in this paper.The method can overcome the shortcoming of previous methods based on single feature.At first,the algorithm employs HSV color space to get rid of non-license plate area,then concomitant color feature,statistical letter frequency and geometry feature are used to detect the possible regions.The algorithm is neither confined to the size and position of the plate,nor limited to the complicated background or illumination condition of the image.Experiments show that the method is effective.
