The Stages and Dimensions of Faculty Development in the United States

摘要 本文依据美国学者的研究,从纵向和横向分析了美国高校教师的发展。从纵向来看,美国高校教师发展可分为五个阶段,即适应生存期、初获认可期、相对稳定期、高峰转折期和隐退淡出期;从横向来看,可划分为四个维度,即专业维度、教学维度、个人维度和组织维度。 This paper analyzes the stages and dimens ions of faculty development in the United States. Faculty development is divided into five stages and four dimensions. The paper summarizes the features of each faculty career stages and discusses a four-dimensional view of faculty development.
