台湾举人与清代台湾社会

Juren(举人) of Taiwan and Their Influence on Its Society

康熙年间清廷收复台湾后,举行科举考试,并在乡试中设立专门保障名额,清代台湾举人也随之产生。作为台湾社会阶层的重要组成部分,台湾举人积极参与各种文教活动,推动了台湾教育的发展,促进了当地文化的繁荣。

After coming back to China in the years of Kangxi(康熙), Taiwan Residents could participate in the imperial examination and some of them got the rank of Juren. Those got the rank of Juren promoted social education and culture actively and got great achievement. This article studies these Juren's activities and argues that they played very important roles for the devel-opment of Taiwan society.
