An analysis of the Characteristics of Paintings by Munch and Van Gogh

Edvard Munch and Vicent Van Gogh were two great western artists,who had created many paintings which were affective,expressive,and powerful.Even though they lived in the same period of time,and had almost the same life experience,they had different styles in paintings.Munch＇s paintings showed intense subjectivity.He used distorted lines and dull colors to explore human nature,death,sickness,and fear.Van Gogh＇s paintings,on the other hand,were closer to reality.He expressed his comprehension of sun,life and hope in passionate and intense color,and in the movement and vibration of form and lines.
