论《红楼梦》中诗歌翻译的不可译性

On Untranslatability of Poems in A Dream of Red Mansions

《红楼梦》最受欢迎的两个英文译本当属杨宪益夫妇和霍克斯的全译本。以《红楼梦》中多个诗歌的英译为例,从语言不可译性和文化不可译性两个大方面进行分析比较,论证诗歌翻译的不可译性。同时根据不可译性这一现象提出了《红楼梦》诗歌翻译的补偿策略,来弥补诗歌在译语中的缺失。

Now the most popular translated versions of A Dream of Red Mansions are the two full versions translated by Yang Xianyi and David Hawkes.This paper analyzes the untranslatability of classical poems in the novel from the perspective of linguistic and cultural untranslatability by taking several translated English poems for examples.Meanwhile,in light of the phenomenon of untranslatability the author points out the compensation strategies in translating classical poems in the novel to remedy the loss of translated poems in target language.
