What kind of relations should be established between the editors of the academic joumals and the authors？ The ＂Concept of Harmony＂ in Chinese traditional culture enlightens us on the methodology, that is, ＂Harmony but not Sameness＂ . The ＂harmony＂ and ＂difference＂ between the editor and the author are decided by the basic contradictions in the process of editing and publishing; the harmony of subjective consciousness is the key to achieve cognitive harmony; the ＂Harmony but not Sameness＂ in editing and publishing field is embodied as the tolerant spirit of publication.
