In the factors that leading to separation of Singapore and Malaysia,economic factors clearly occupy an important position.Prior to the merger,the expected economic gains have been one of important driving forces to promote the merger.However,after the establishment of Malaysia,'win-win' situation had notseen in the economy,on the contrary,serious economic friction occurred.The failure of economic cooperation promoted in a certain extent to these paration of Singapore and Malaysia.
