从归化和异化的视角反思动物习语的翻译

Reflection of Translating Animal Idioms from Aspect of Domestication and Foreignization

由于英汉民族思维方式和文化背景不同,同一动物所承载的文化内涵也就可能出现差异。因此,在翻译动物习语时,不能望文生义,应该根据所给的语境仔细琢磨,反复推敲,才能正确理解动物习语的涵义,领悟异国文化内涵。从跨文化的角度,对包含动物名称的英语习语翻译中的归化和异化现象加以剖析,试图说明归化和异化在文化翻译中的重要作用。

Because of different national thought styles and cultural backgrounds,the same animal may deliver different cultural connotation.Therefore,when it comes to translating animal idioms,we should think it over and understand the connotation of those animal idioms and master its foreign culture according to the contexts,instead of translating them literally.From the aspect of cross-culture,the article analyzes domestication and foreignization in the process of translating animal idioms,trying to illustrate that domestication and foreignization play an important role in cultural translation.
