Owing to its outstanding advantages,the articulated system is widely used in engineering vehicles. By analyzing types and characteristics, the paper puts forward the new concept of steering capability of articulated vehicles, its computing model and computational formula, and a computing example. The steering capability can be used to evaluate the steering ability of engineering articulated vehicles rationally.
