THE APPLICATION OF VRML IN MECHANICAL PRODUCT SHAPING

通过实例论述了利用虚拟现实构模语言（ＶＲＭＬ）构造虚拟机械产品的过程，说明在产品造型设计中使用ＶＲ（ＶｉｒｔｕａｌＲｅａｌｉｔｙ）技术不但可行而且效果良好．同时，利用所提供的方法可以在低性能计算平台上使用ＶＲ技术，将本方法应用于机械产品造型设计能极大地提高设计对象的真实感和互动性并能达到直观生动和经济快捷的目的．

This paper discusses the process of using Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) to build virtual mechanical product through an instance. Not only feasibility but also nicer effect is showed via applying VR (Virtual Reality) to product shaping. Meantime, a method of application of VR has been well applied to practice on low performance computing platform. It helps to increase the third dimension, interactive performance and achieve the aim of vividness, economy and speediness.
