王祯《农书》中锡活字排版技艺新释

New Interpretation about Typesetting Skill of Tin Type in Nung Shu of Wang Zhen

元代王祯在《农书》中记载了一种锡活字印刷。前人根据其记载推测锡活字中间有一个可供穿铁丝用的小孔。本文通过研究得出与前人不同的观点:元代的锡活字中不应该有小孔,其排版技艺可能与后世所见的金属活字基本相同。

Wang Zhen of Yuan Dynasty had introduced a technology of printing with Tin type in book Nung Shu.And some researchers believed that there was a hole with an iron wire crossing it in Tin type.In this paper,after careful research,the different conclusion was abtained that Tin type in Yuan Dynasty could not have a small hole,the typesetting skill of Tin type might be the same with the metal type later.
