《太平御览·疾病部》外科资料共载外科疾病18条,共19种,致病因素包括六淫、情志、外伤、地理因素、食物、家族、先天、肥胖、神秘原因等,治法分为内治和外治两种,内治为服食药物,外治可分为药物疗法、手术疗法、引流法、熨法、浸渍法、巫术疗法、内服加外用法等。这些资料有着与医学专著不同的特点,引文无出自医学专著者,重叙事、说理,轻病因、病机,提供了许多历史人物疾病的珍贵史料。

There are eighteen classes and nineteen types diseases about Surgery Department of TCM in Taipingyulan-Jibing.The pathogenic factors includes six exopathogens,emotion,wound,geogen,food,family,innateness,fat,mysterious cause.therapeutic methods are divided into internal method（taking medicine）and outside method（dressing medicine,operation,abseiling,hot compress,maceration,necromancy,taking and dressing medicine）.The characters of this book are different to other books of TCM,such as that there is not one Citations coming from the books of TCM.In this book,the authors attached importance to tell a story and point,not to the pathogenic factors and pathogenesis.There are so many diseases common tohistorical figures.
