Discussion on Research "Digital City

城市规划研究工作中所运用的大量信息都可通过现代航天技术获得各种数据，诸如城市土地利用，城市交通、城市人口密度与分布，建筑类型分布与密集程度……等，此类数据又可借助数字化、网络化做成可管理控制的规划虚拟模型，这样人们就可以在模型中获取所有与城市有关的信息。成为一个实在的城市综合管理与决策支持系统。本文简要对数字城市作一简介。

Large amount of data which is applied in urban planning research work can be obtained from modern space technolgy, such as urban land use, urban traffic, urban population density and distribution, layout of buildings and their density, etc.. These data can be made to a virtual model of planning based on the way of digitalization and network, form which people can find useful information of a certain city. The model can be formed as a practical support system for urban comprehensive management. More details about digital city are introduced in the paper.
