The article describes the background, design concept and construction process of the Gaoligong Museum of Handcraft Paper in Yunnan, designed by HUA Li and his Trace Architecture Office (TAO).It reveals the architect's contemplation on how to realize architectural expression of regional characteristic and modernity by using local resources and suitable techniques in the rural context of contemporary China.
