陈毅在盐阜淮大地上曾留下光辉的战斗足迹,他在指挥新四军与敌寇顽军浴血奋战取得军事斗争胜利的同时,还创作了许多战斗的诗篇,既鼓舞了军民奋勇杀敌,又以此为媒介争取和团结了当地的众多社会名流、乡绅文士,结成最广泛的抗日统一阵线,使得军事武装斗争与文化战线的斗争相互配合与支援。

Comrade Chen Yi had left a glorious struggling footprint in Yanfuhuai area.He commanded the New Fourth Army fighting against the enemies and obtained great military victory,and many battles were described in his verse during that time.His poems not only encouraged the civil-military striving to kill the enemies,but also united many local celebrities and squire scribe,thus formed the most extensive anti-Japanese united front,helped to bring about the interaction and mutual assistance of the military armed force and cultural front.
