The paper makes analysis on the factors causing damages to cathode on the basis of analyzing the properties of the inner lining of cathodes aiming at the result of emptied 230kA pre-baked pots,and introduces ways of pots maintenance,judgment of stopping operation of pots and testing for damaged ones.
