当前西方新兴宗教研究中的三大争议性主题

Three controversial topics on Contemporary New Religious Movement studies in the West

20世纪90年代以来,西方学界新兴宗教研究中有三个问题变得日益突出并引发激烈争议。一是"洗脑/精神控制"问题,这个问题一度被认为已经解决,但近年来又重新引起关注;二是极端性、破坏性膜拜团体问题,主要涉及对这类团体的界定与预测;三是针对膜拜团体/新兴宗教的公共政策问题,当前,美国与西欧的不同处理方式引起了普遍关注。文章回顾了学界对上述三个突出问题的主要研究及观点,认为在全球化背景下,中国在膜拜团体/新兴宗教研究方面亟需汲取各方面理论资源,加强相关研究。

Since 1990s,there are three topics in New Religious Movement(NRM) become more and more prominent and controversial.First,the problem of brainwash or mind control,which once has been solved,butrecently drawsome attention again.Second,the problemof extremismor destructive cults,which concerns howto definite these religious groups and to foresee their destructive actions.Third,the problemof different public policies on these groups.Today,Different management policies in US and West Europe have drawn more attentions.The paper reviews current researches focus on three issues above,and argues that China will face more challenges of newreligious movement in the globalization era.It is very urgent to strengthen the research on theoretical resources of cult/newreligious.
