The occurrence of fetal cleft lip and palate, related factors, diagnosis and treatment are reviewed in this article. We summary the relationship between the incidence of chromosomal abnormalities and fetal cleft lip and palate. As the improvement of prenatal diagnosis techniques （ ultrasound, MRI, etc. ） , more and more fetals of cleft lip and palate are dioagnosed. Fetoscope and other technologies also contribute to the ,development of fetal treatment. Intrauterine treatment of cleft lip and palate is a major trend. But a lot of research is still eonfined to the stage of using animal models.
