亲属称谓不仅是文化的缩影,在整个称谓系统中也起到了极为重要的作用。文章讨论了汉英亲属称谓的差异及成因,并选取了《红楼梦》两个英译本中亲属称谓的翻译,比较和分析了译者使用的翻译方法。

The kinship term is not only an epitome of culture but also plays a great role in the kinship term system. This paper discusses the differences between Chinese and English kinship terms and their causes, compares and analyses the translator＇ s methods by making a case study of two English versions of A Dream of Red Mansions.
