This paper systematically summarizes the main types and design theories of current commonly-used pile foundation,describes several common pile foundation design methods including structural mechanics methods and unitary analysis methods,with a view to guide the pile foundation designers to considerate every link,to design rationally,and to guarantee the economy and security of the pile foundation.
