Social Status and Refusals——A Comparative Study of English,Chinese and Tibetan Refusals

Tibetan refusals are depicted and analyzed in the paper,arguing that different concepts of social status play a decisive role in speakers＇ choice of refusal strategies,so it is important for learners to have a deep understanding of social and cultural conventions in target language in the order to have successful cross-cultural communication.
