从《枫桥夜泊》英译本看补偿手段在汉诗英译中的应用

On the compensation method in the English Translation of Chinese Poetry——a view through the English version of "Feng Qiao Ye Bo"

作为译学工作重要组成部分的诗歌翻译,形似和神似两者兼备一直是翻译工作者孜孜以求的目标。也恰恰因为这一点,对中国古代诗歌的翻译存在着一定的困难,同时也引发了翻译界、学术界对中国古代诗歌翻译的长久争论。语言文化差异会导致诗歌翻译的损失,因此采用多种补偿手段是诗歌翻译的内在要求。试图通过比较《枫桥夜泊》不同英译本来看补偿手段在汉诗英译中的应用。

Poesy is the purest art form of literature works,which has succinct and implicit language,clear rhythm,and neat sentence pattern.Chinese ancient poesy is the quintessence of Chinese civilization,implying cultural richness.During the course of poesy translation,which is an important part of translation work,translators have been aiming at the goal of likeness not only in appearance but also in spirit.That is precisely why it is difficult to translate ancient Chinese poesy,and meanwhile resulting in long-standing argument in the translation circle and the academic community.The difference in language and culture will bring on the loss of poesy translation,so it is required to take various compensation methods in the translation.This article is trying to compare different translation versions of ＂Feng Qiao Ye Bo＂ to study the application of compensation method in the translation of Chinese poesy into English.
