After analysis on failure modes and causes of a fine forging die for a synchronizer ring of a heavy vehicle,the die material and structure were optimized in which the die steel was made strengthening and toughening with rare earth composite treatment method and the die＇s strength,thermal fatigue resistance,red hardness and toughness were thus fully strengthened.
