Site selection is the foundation and a precondition for planning and construction of a space launch site. It has great influence on the integral launch capability, construction difficulty and cost of range systems and TT＆C systems as well as the techno-economic outcome and continuous development capability. Based on the actual situa tions of our country and the current development status of space launch sites, this paper presents a detailed analysis and description of the principles, conditions, and survey procedures and basic methods for selection of the site for a space launch complex.
