摘要
基于语言输出在意义协商中所起的重要作用,本研究调查了国内高校英语学习环境中不同英语水平配对在意义协商中的语言输出状况。32名不同英语水平的学生组成水平类似组(8组配对)和水平差异组(8组配对)。受试按要求进行了图画信息差口语活动,口语任务完成过程被如实录音和文字转录。调查结果显示:(1)学生的修正输出数量相对较少;英语水平配对形式对修正输出数量没有影响,对其他输出形式的数量则影响显著。(2)在意义协商中,学生多因语义障碍进行修正输出;但水平配对形式对语义、语音、词形和句法四种修正输出形式均无影响。
In view of the important role output plays in the nego7 tiation of meaning, the present study investigated the output responses in the negotiation of meaning produced by different types of dyads in college English learning settings in China. 32 participants of different English proficiency formed into a like- proficiency group(8 dyads) and a mixed-proficiency group (8 dyads). They were required to perform an oral task in which the two participants in each dyad should spot the differences be- tween two similar drawings. The interaction of the 16 dyads was tape-recorded and later transcribed. The results indicated that (1) students produced fewer modified output responses than non-modified ones;proficiency pairing had an impact on the quantity of the non-modified output responses, but did not do so on the quantity of the modified output. ( 2 ) Students usually modified their output due to semantic barriers;however, on the four specific types of output modifications, namely, semantic, phonological, morphological and syntactical modifications, proficiency pairing did not have any effect..
