The system functions of the skin pass process control system and its interfaces with the operators and the equipment were discussed.Process control includes mill sequencing,skin pass elongation control,HGC（hydraulic gap control） position and pressure controls and roll bend pressure control.Particular explanation is given to describe both electric drive and hydraulic control system with relevant schematic diagram and sketches.The general characteristics of temper mill system was given by introducing both principles and functions,useful conclusions which will be valuable reference for later engineering practice are reached.
