Determination of the Optimum Packet Length in Packet Voice Communications

本文研究了在汉语电话谈话中有声期和无声期的持续时间的分布特性。文章接着讨论了最佳话音分组长度的确定原则。在理论计算的基础上,给出了话音编码速率和分组开销为不同数值时的最佳话音分组长度。

In this paper the statistics of durations of talkspurt and silence in Chinese speech telephone conversations are examined. Principles of selecting the optimum voice packet length are discussed. On the basis of theoretical calculation the optimum voice length is obtained for different voice signal coding rates and packet overheads.
