摘要
坏消息英语商务信函传达的是不利于读信人的信息,因此威胁到了读信人的"面子"。写信人在写作这类信函时应该在篇章安排、句子表达和词汇选择三个层面上积极运用各种礼貌策略来保全读信人的"面子"。
Bad- news English business letters convey unfavorable massages to the reader, and thus threaten the reader＇s ＂ Face＂. Therefore, the letter writer should actively apply politeness strategies to save the reader＇s ＂Face＂ at the discourse level, the sentence level and the word choice level respectively.
