摘要
晚清西方传教士将数学符号系统地引入中国,与中国传统物理知识表示方法相互交融,从而使中国传统物理学知识逐渐走向近代化.比较了晚清不同物理译著中的数学符号,解读数学符号在物理计算中的应用,分析数学符号的演变对我国物理学知识发展的影响.
During the late Qing-dynasty,the system of mathematical symbols was introduced into China through translated works by western missionaries.This have been influenced greatly on traditional Chinese representation.Chinese physics knowledge was eventually modernized through the spread and application of western mathematical symbols.The aim of this paper is mainly to compare those mathematical symbols in difference physics works translated during the late Qing-dynasty.Meanwhile,the application of western mathematical symbols in translated Chinese physics works is analyzed.The influence of the evolution of mathematical symbols on the development of Chinese physics would be revealed in this paper.
