摘要
《中国印刷史》英文版入选2009年法兰克福书展中国主宾国活动重点图书翻译出版资助项目。以该著作的英译工作为出发点,探讨在"中国出版走出去"战略指导下中译外工作的重要性,以及中国翻译工作者弘扬祖国文化的重大责任。具体分析了为尊重原文的文化身份,翻译汉语典籍和专著时应采取的策略和方法。
The completion of the English translation of The History of Chinese Printing was selected as one of the key items of the China Book International (CBI) project in 2008, with the English version being exhibited in the Frankfurt Book Fair in October, 2009, where China is the Guest of Honor. The significance of translation out of Chinese is discussed and the responsibility of Chinese translators is emphasized when introducing the translation work of this treatise. The strategies and methods of translating Chinese classics and treatises are also analyzed, in the sense of keeping the cultural identity of the source text.
