The article briefly describes the ability requirements of the mechanical technicians in the current economy and social development and analyzes the roles and realization of science and technology manufacture（STM） that the undergraduate synthetic ability cultivation is improved.It also takes a project for example to explain that,STM is the good supplement for current cultivation methods,has the reference and practice value for research and technology-applied universities.
