关于北京城市广场的思考

About Public Squares in Beijing

针对北京城市广场的“表层功能”和“潜在功能”，通过对城市广场方面现存问题的各种不同解决方式的介绍，试图将人的行为、历史性建筑和环境融入城市广场空间的设计中，并使城市广场空间的设计与旧有城市商业中心的改造结合起来。

This thesis is focused on the' apparent function' and the' potential function' of the public squares in Beijing. From the standpoint of taking various means to solve existing problems of public squares, this thesis tries to integrate the behavioral aspects of humanity, the historic building and environment in the design of public squares, and to combine the design of public squares with the reform of the old commercial centers.
