The mass transfer coefficients for gas-liquid have been measured in a countercurrent flow column by this study The measurements were completed under the temperature 25℃ and the normal pressure in a glass column with the diameter 53 mm and the catalyst-bed-height 528 mm The correlations for calculation of the mass transfer coefficients were obtained by regressing the experimental data, which can be employed to simulate the catalytic distillation process for the hydrolysis of the methyl acetate
