Sara Teasdale mainly focuses on the female＇s emotions in her poetry with a 19th-century genteel tone.However,a close reading of her poems about the Greet poetess Sappho will show that she has subtly reinscribed the gender ideas regarding woman prevelant in the 19th century instead of faithfully following the tradition.
