摘要
"委婉表达"在具有东西方文明特色的英日两国语言中扮演着十分重要的角色,但表现方式有异同之处。本文就这两种语言在委婉表达中采用的词汇、语法、修辞策略,剖析了英日委婉表达的异同,其主要目的在于为跨文化交际的顺利进行提供一定的文化背景知识。
Euphemistic expression plays an important role in both British and Japanese linguistic cultures. Though they share some common methods of expression, they differ in other aspects. From the aspects of strategies in lexicon, grammar and rhetoric applied in euphemistic expressions, the paper analyzes the similarities and differences in the English and Japanese methods of euphemistic expressions with a view to providing some cultural backgrounds for intercultural communications.
