Today, sustainable development has become a frame of thought for most they consider their economic and social development. For Shanghai which is going to be constructed as an international metropolis, it is very important to implement the strategy of sustainable development. In this paper, the author discusses the theoretical base, fundamental situation and strategic thoughts for Shanghai sustainable development.
