By comparing some seepage prevention techniques used for the sand bank in Hunhe river, the paper proves the feasibility and reliability of vertical seepage prevention with the geomembrane. The designmethod, the construction technique, the economic benefit ,the indoor and outdoor test results, and engineering observation are expounded.
