Liu Shibai's Academic Thoughts

刘诗白教授在社会主义经济理论等诸多领域进行了大量卓有成效的研究,提出了许多超前性、正确性的学术观点。如在政治经济学研究上主张拓宽范围,不但研究生产关系,还要研究生产力和经济运行机制,在研究方法上不但采用唯物辩证法,而且还采用历史的方法、归纳法、演绎法和数学方法;刘先生较早涉入所有制问题研究之"禁区",并明确提出了社会主义社会所有制结构的多元性、所有制形式的多样性、公有制具体形式的多层次性的"三性"观点,引起了很大的社会反响;作为中国社会主义市场经济理论研究的先驱者和奠基者之一,他"建设有中国特色的社会主义市场经济"的提法被中共十四大正式采纳;在产权理论研究上,他主张构建市场机制,必须着眼于改革公有制的实现形式,重点是进行产权制度的改革,他主张经济学必须致力于民富国强,提出了人民财富的最大增值、合理分配、优化使用是社会主义政治经济学的新主题,为经济学的理论创新提出了一条重要思路。

Professor Liu Shibai has conducted numerous studies in socialism economic theories and other fields,putting forward quite a lot forward-looking and rational academic ideas.For example,he proposed that the research scope of plutonomy shall not only include production relations but also productive force and economic operation mechanism.Concerning research methods,he thought it may be better to use historical,inductive and mathematical methods as well as materialism dialectical methods.Mr.Liu,one of the pioneers studying the ＂restricted area＂ of ownership＂,clearly pointed out the three features： pluralism of socialism ownership structure,diversity of ownership forms,and hierachiality of public ownership forms,arousing great public response.As the leader and founder in the theories concerning socialism market economy in China,his expression of ＂constructing socialism market economy with Chinese characteristics＂ was adopted by the 14th Party Congress.In the study of property right theories,he suggested the market mechanism,reforming the property right system and the realization form of public ownership.He believed that the key of economics is to promote the wealth of the public and the power of the nation,and the added value,rational distribution,and optimized use of the people＇s wealth is the new subject of socialism plutonomy,bringing forward a critical route for the theoretical innovation of economics.
