摘要 每种语言都有其特定的称谓系统和使用规则。同一称呼语在不同文化中不一定能对等使用。由于在英汉文化中对教师的社会身分和教师这一职业有着不同的理解或解释倾向,汉语中的"老师"和与之相对应的英语单词"teacher"反应在称呼的行为方式上也就有所不同。 Every language has its certain addressing system and rules of usage.The same address form in one language may not be suitable for another.As Chinese and English have different undstandings or interpretive bias of the social status of "teacher" and its implication as an occupation,"laoshi" in Chinese and the corresponding word "teacher" in English means differently in addressing.Targetting on the ubiquitious phenomenon of the greeting "Good morning,teacher" in Chinese universities,the research makes an investigation of the address forms that Chinese students adopt in addressing their English teachers.The result shows that there is a wide range of address forms that they use and among which the ones that reflect new-type relationship of teacher and student appear.The lack of English pragmatic knowledge and the negative transfer of the mother tongue also cause the formation of their special mode of addressing.
