Abstract. The speedy development of knowledge economy is pressing the coal industry to bright about major readjustments in several aspects of the coal industry such as industrial and product structures, investment orientation, utilization of resources, and the preparation of steering policies. Based on the practice of Huainan Mining Group Corp., this article gives an account about the company's basic concept and practice in speeding up technological advancement and improving the overall quality of workers, i.e. helping its workers to establish a sound value of knowledge, strengthening technical management conscientiously, enhancing R&D and application, increasing input into R&D and improving the skills and overall quality of all employees.
