The setting and abolishing of Weisuo Units in Guizhou was connected with its social and historical background in the Ming and the Qing Dynasty.The setting of Weiso Units in Guizhou not only consolidated the border defense in the southwest,but also promoted the economic growth and made the administrative system more mature in Guizhou.However,Weiso,a basic military unit in the Ming Dynasty,had kept strong military force until the later Ming Dynasty.Undoubtedly,it was a big threat to the newborn Qing Dynasty.For this reason,the Qing ruling class abolished Weiso Units and established county,which had perfected the administrative divisions of Guizhou.Reviewing that history,it is of important historical value and practical significance to know the building-up,developing and perfecting of Guizhou administrative system today.
