Lexical fossilization is an unavoidable phenomenon in English study.There are three major causes contributing to English lexical fossilization,including language transfer,strategies of learning and communication,learning environment,etc.Correspondingly,English lexical fossilization can be avoided by reducing language negative transfer,training strategies of learning and improving learning environment.
